2020 Right Livelihood Award Ceremony

Join us for the live-stream of the 2020 Right Livelihood Award Ceremony followed by a brief conversation amongst RLC Santa Cruz students and faculty, and friends of the RLC. The event includes moving artistic performances, speeches from the 2020 laureates, and guest appearances from previous laureates. More details to be announced.

The 2020 Right Livelihood Laureates are:
  • Civil rights lawyer Bryan Stevenson “for his inspiring endeavor to reform the US criminal justice system and advance racial reconciliation in the face of historic trauma.”
  • Imprisoned human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh “for her fearless activism, at great personal risk, to promote political freedoms and human rights in Iran.”
  • Indigenous rights and environmental activist Lottie Cunningham Wren of Nicaragua “for her ceaseless dedication to the protection of indigenous lands and communities from exploitation and plunder.”
  • Human rights activist Ales Bialiatski and the non-governmental organization Human Rights Centre “Viasna” “for their resolute struggle for the realization of democracy and human rights in Belarus.”
